"F" Class 2-10-2's in Lifetime Brass for the astute Collector of Fine Hand Crafted Brass Models and the Operator alike! There will be FIVE distinctively different versions produced, including two locomotives in the F-1 class, one as an F-3, and two being F-5's. These models have been constructed to our own proprietary specifications and drawings for us by South Korea's Premier Builder of Brass Models, Boo-Rim Precision. These models arrived just recently and tho many of our previous Espee models didn't even last long enough to pose for photos, we've a few of these yet unspoken for, if you act fast... GLACIER PARK MODELS is pleased to announce the release of a series of our two-years-in-the-making S.P. "F" Class 2-10-2's in Lifetime Brass, all variations which have never before been modeled! Designed to please the most discriminating Collector of Fine Hand Crafted Brass Models and the knowledgeable S.P. Operator alike, no less than FIVE distinctively different versions have been produced, including two locomotives in the F-1 class; one F-3 class engine, and two F-5 class engines.

As you will see in perusing the photos below, several of our model choices are pulling unique tenders, one outstanding example being engine number 3748 behind which you will see one of the HUGE 252 R-1 tender which came to the Espee's roster from the C&O during the war years. (This same style tender was used behind the famous AC-9 Articulateds after their conversion to oil in the late 1940's...)

Engine number 3616 is our feature photo on this page. She was built by the Baldwin Locomotive Company and added to S.P.'s ever expanding steam locomotive roster in 1919, where she would remain in service right up into the cessation of steam operations in 1955.

As can be seen here, she is followed by a class 120 C-2 "Vanderbilt" tender which rides upon a pair of unusual-for-the-class Commonwealth "Equalized Swing Motion" Trucks...

The photographer caught her in this guise in 1947, an appearance she would carry for at least a year to follow.

Engine number 3652 also bore the "F-1" Class designation, but she was truly unique for several reasons:

1. She was the last of the "F-1's" built.

2. She was built by Schenectady.

3. She came from the Arizona Eastern.

As can be seen in these photos, she is followed by a class 120 C-6 "Vanderbilt" tender riding on a pair of 6 wheel "CSC" trucks. ("CSC" stood for Commonwealth Steel Company...)

Engine number 3654 was built by Baldwin in 1921 as an "F-3". She was one of fifteen engines in that class. You will note that she has the huge cast steel trailing truck common to the later engines, but this one has no power booster engine.

Trailing behind her is a class 120 C-6 "Vanderbilt" tender riding on a pair of 6 wheel Commonwealth Steel Company trucks.

Engine number 3748 is a class "F5"... Her trailing truck is equipped with a power booster, which gave her an additional 10,000 pounds of tractive effort when starting out.

Her tender is a Class 14 252-R-1 which she acquired in 1949 and which was the SP's heaviest tender, possessing the greatest water capacity of all. Talk about unique! Click the photo for more info on this model!

We chose "F-5" Class engine number 3757 not only because it so typifies the "look and feel" of the Espee's burley modern steam power, it is also equipped with a not-so-common tender.

Number 3757 is followed by a class 120 C-8 "Vanderbilt" style tender. Compare the fuel bunkers of this one with the 120 C-6 tenders and you'll readily see there are differences.
